North Lancashire with Iain Hodgkinson 2017
The landscape of the North Lancashire is a highly diverse mosaic of low limestone hills, woodlands, wetlands and mosses, pastures, limestone pavements, coastal cliffs and intertidal flats and the spectacular views over Morecambe Bay and towards the Lake District to the west and north, and towards the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland to the east and south, give this special area an impressive setting. The North Lancashire coast is dominated by open skies that create an ever-changing backdrop, offering a multitude of scenes and colours to capture on paper or canvas.

The course will include Plein air sketching, developing mixed media studies and leading up to combining these with the relief printmaking techniques of woodcut and lino cutting. All without the need of a press!

Our accommodation for the week is a first-class, semi-detached barn conversion in beautiful rolling countryside in the small rural hamlet of Preston Patrick, six miles from Kirkby Lonsdale.

Converted to an extremely high standard, this outstanding Preston Patrick cottage is full of charm and style, with the character of original features only enhanced by the addition of modern styling and comforts.

The accommodation is over three floors with a combination of ensuite rooms and rooms with shared bathrooms. There is a delightful first-floor sitting room with wood burner and Juliet balcony with breathtaking views.

A 4 night Monday (11th) to Friday (15th) course is available during this course from £600pp.
