Sketch Trips
Like most of our students, we didn’t pick up our brushes again until our personal and professional lives calmed down and our children were older. When we did it was amongst the stunning Aravis Mountains in France. Inspired by the towering mountains, crystal-clear lakes and flower-filled fields, we decided to introduce other painters to the pleasure of capturing the amazing alpine vistas that surrounded us on a daily basis.
The amazing ‘Plein air’ sketching/painting locations coupled with delicious French food and great hospitality, soon proved incredibly popular. Within a few years, we had a handful of talented artists and tutors requesting similar ‘Plein air’ courses throughout the UK and Europe. Since our first course in 2006, we have coordinated residential courses in The Lake District, Cornwall, North Wales, Northumberland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Portugal.
Working with some of the most experienced practitioners and communicators in the art education sector, we help art lovers and hobbyists advance their talent in a relaxed, friendly 4-9 night residential environment.
We pride ourselves on providing an unparalleled service which allows enables our students to enjoy a relaxing, rewarding, creative experience and allows our tutors to concentrate on delivering hassle-free high-quality courses
This bespoke service is designed to allow tutors to expand their creative practice into residential courses, by taking the administrative pressure off their shoulders. Sketchtrips facilitates everything, organising all the behind-the-scenes event administration, accommodation, catering and transport in a variety of locations throughout the UK and Europe. This year we are working with three tutors to offer a mixture of courses in Sardinia, Anglesey and Bergerac. Next year’s itinerary is in the planning.
